- Patients will be offered privacy during consultations and treatments to ensure their comfort and confidentiality.
- Staff must take into account cultural, linguistic, and personal preferences when interacting with patients.
2. Communication
- Clear and simple communication should be used to ensure the patient understands their care and treatment.
- If a patient has communication difficulties, appropriate aids or interpreters will be arranged.
- Consent for treatment must always be obtained, ensuring the patient understands the nature and purpose of the proposed care.
3. Safeguarding Measures
- All staff must be trained to recognise signs of abuse, neglect, or exploitation and understand their responsibilities in safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
- If any safeguarding concerns arise, they must be reported immediately to the clinic’s designated safeguarding officer (DSO).
- The DSO will follow the appropriate referral pathways to external agencies if needed.
